Teen charged in Baseline Road commercial armed robberies

The Ottawa Police Service is laying four charges against a 19-year-old, following armed robberies at businesses on Baseline Road in Nepean.

Officers say man walked into a business near Fisher Avenue at 3:04 p.m. on April 6, threatened staff and demanded money.

Just a half-hour later, a man matching the description of the previous robbery, walked into another business in the Algonquin College area and again confronted staff while demanding money.

Aidan Barter, of Ottawa, is facing charges of:

  • Robbery with violence (two counts)
  • Disguise with intent (two counts)

He was scheduled to appear in court on April 11.
