Open air fire ban lifted in Ottawa

The Ottawa Fire Service has lifted the city's burn ban.

On April 1, the ban was put into place to prevent unnecessary grass fires, which would allow firefighters and other emergency personnel to focus on the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as limiting possible exposure.

Officials would like to remind residents that a burn permit must be obtained before having open air fire.

Prior to setting an open air fire, you must first contact the OFS Communications Centre at 613-580-2880.

For inquiries please call 3-1-1 (TTY: 613-580-2401) or email 3-1-1.
