An Ottawa Tim Hortons location in the city’s east end is closed until further notice as it sanitizes its restaurant following a positive COVID-19 test of one of their employees.

According to a Tim Horton’s spokesperson Sunday, the Trainyards location at 535 Terminal Ave. will stay closed until it is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

A separate crew of team members will then be brought in to work once the sanitization is complete, the spokesperson said.

“The health and safety of guests and team members has been our top priority throughout the pandemic,” the spokesperson said. “Following public health guidelines, team members who worked closely with this person are self-isolating for 14 days”

“We wish the employee a full recovery,” they added.

Team members who test positive are asked or are asked to self-isolate are supported through the Tim Hortons corporate and restaurant owner COVID-19 compensation fund to make up for any lost wages.
