OPP uncover a number of drugs and weapons in South Dundas apartment

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is charging four people, between the ages of 16 and 31, with a number of drug and weapon-related offences, after searching an apartment on County Road 18 in South Dundas.

Officers raided the apartment on May 29, and found suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone, clonazepam, restricted weapons, ammunition, unstamped cigarettes and items typically used for drug trafficking.

Chase de Decker, 24, of South Dundas Township, has been charged with:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – Criminal Code (CC) sec. 117.01(1) – two counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – CC sec. 91(2) – two counts
  • Fail to comply with a Probation Order – sec. 733.1(1) – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) sec. 5(2) – two counts

Courtland Jollota, 24, of South Dundas Township, has been charged with:

  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – CC sec. 117.01(1) – three counts
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – CC sec. 91(2) – two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – CC sec. 354(1)(a)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA sec. 5(2) – three counts

Ashley Helder, 31, of South Dundas Township, has been charged with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon – CC sec. 91(2) – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA sec. 5(2) – two counts

A 16-year old girl, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the purpose of trafficking – CDSA sec. 5(2) – two counts

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg later this year.
