Three of four Ottawa beaches officially open for the season Saturday

Ottawa's beaches are officially open as of Saturday.

Lifeguards will be on duty at Mooney's Bay, Petrie Island, and Westboro but Britannia Beach will be closed due to riverbed restoration work.

Daily beach water test results will be posted on the OPH website on the status of the beaches throughout the summer.

To minimize transmission of COVID-19 when at a public beach or park OPH recommends:

The lifeguards will be at the opened beaches every day between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m.
