Brooke Henderson raising awareness for Parkinson’s through local SuperWalk
Brooke Henderson is helping to kick off a fundraising campaign for Parkinson Canada in Smiths Falls.
Her great uncle Bob Arnold suffers with the disease.
“I am excited to be able to show my support for my great uncle Bob and others with Parkinson's who live in this area,” said the nine-time LPGA winner. “I hope that my donation helps to increase awareness of this disease and encourages others to contribute to the Lanark North Leeds SuperWalk. COVID or not, funds are still needed to support the services people need.”

Parkinson Canada says it took five years for Arnold to get the help he needed.
The organization explains, although early diagnosis is critical for someone with Parkinson's, many factors contribute to a delay in dealing with the symptoms — many of which are not recognized, even by health professionals.
The Fourth Annual Parkinson Canada SuperWalk Lanark North Leeds is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 at Conlon Farm in Perth, but it will look different this year because of COVID-19. Gatherings will take place at selected town halls (depending on provincial guidelines).
A donation of $5,000 from Henderson is jump starting the local SuperWalk's fundraising campaign.
