A weekend storm system spawned two minor tornadoes in eastern Ontario, among four in total across the province.

The first tornado touched down around 2:30 p.m., Sunday, in Camden East, a village about 30 kilometres northwest of Kingston.

Environment Canada says damage associated with the tornado was consistent with winds up to 130 km/h. The tornado has been rated a high-end EF0, the lowest rating on the Enhanced Fujita scale for measuring tornado intensity.

A second tornado touched down in Oxford Mills, southwest of Kemptville, around 4:30 p.m., Sunday. The destruction from the tornado was less severe than the Camden East tornado, with the damage suggesting maximum winds around 90 kilometres an hour. It has been rated a low-end EF0.

Two other tornadoes were reported in Ontario over the weekend: an EF1 tornado struck the community of Kinmount, around 4:50 p.m., Sunday and a weak tornado was witnessed by a weather spotter near Mitchell, about 70 kilometres west of Kitchener, around midday Monday. The Mitchell tornado caused some tree damage.
