UPDATE: Power has been restored for 12,638 customers in south Ottawa.

A large outage has left thousands without power in south Ottawa.

Hydro Ottawa reported power out for 12,638 customers in the Bank Street, Walkley Road, Hunt Club Road and Heron Road area, around 9:45 a.m., Monday, September 21.
The power outage is also affecting the Hydro Ottawa building on Albion Road.
Hydro Ottawa says the cause of the outage is a loss of power supply from the provincial grid.
Hydro crews are responding and the estimated time of restoration is 12 p.m.
