UPDATE: Ottawa police investigating fatal collision on Upper Dwyer Hill Road

Update 4:32 a.m.: The Ottawa Police Service is now investigating a crash Wednesday afternoon on Upper Dwyer Hill Road at Vaughan Side Road in the Mississippi Mills area as a fatal. 

Two people had to be extricated from their vehicle at 5:20 p.m. after a collision outside of the city’s west end. 

Paramedics transported one patient by Orange Air and the second patient by ambulance. 

There are road closures in the area, Upper Dwyer Hill is closed from Panmure Road to Carroll Side Road Vaughan Side Road is closed from Burnt Lands Road to Peter Robinson Road until further notice to allow for investigation of the incident.

Two people had to be extricated from their vehicle when two vehicles collided with each other just outside of the city’s west end. 

Ottawa Fire Services received a call about the collision — with one vehicle having rolled over — on Upper Dwyer Hill Road at Vaughan Side Road in the Mississippi Mills area at about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday. 

When firefighters arrived, they confirmed the serious collision, reporting that the one vehicle had rolled over onto its roof in a ditch, and a second vehicle was still on the road. 

Firefighters extricated the passenger in one vehicle, as well as an extra occupant.

Paramedics transported one patient by Orange Air and the second patient by ambulance.
