Kitchen fire on St. Laurent Boulevard sends one person to hospital
One person is in hospital after a fire on St. Laurent Boulevard.
Around 8:20 p.m. on Monday, November 2, Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a 911 call from a person reporting smoke and flames coming from their kitchen at 215 St. Laurent Boulevard, north of Hemlock Road.
The 911 operator directed the person to immediately leave the unit and wait for help.

When crews arrived on scene, a working fire was declared in the middle unit of a 2-storey multi-door residential row house.

The fire was under control by 9:07 p.m.

The occupant was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the fire.
According to OFS, people have been displaced by the fire and the Canadian Red Cross and the Salvation Army are assisting those affected.
An Ottawa Fire Investigator is probing the cause of the blaze.
