Gun fired inside home during robbery north of Casselman

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is searching for a pair of suspects following a home invasion in Clarence-Rockland, in which they say a gun was fired.

Police responded to a call from a home on County Road 8, north of Casselman, on Wednesday, November 4, just after 2 a.m.

Officers say two men broke into the home and assaulted a 31-year old man. 

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, while a woman who was in the house was not seriously injured. 

Police say a handgun was seen during the incident and a shot was fired within the home. 

The culprits fled the scene, taking a some cash and a few other items. 

The individuals involved are described as:

Suspect #1:

  • White man
  • Approximately 6' 0'' tall
  • Dressed in black clothing, carrying a grey gym bag with white writing on it

Suspect #2:

  • 5' 5″ tall
  • Brown eyes
  • Thin beard
  • Dressed in black

The OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit is assisting Russell County OPP and Russell OPP Crime Unit with the investigation.
