Outbreak status lifted from Garry J. Armstrong long-term care home

Another city-run long-term care home this week has lifted its outbreak status.

Donna Gray, general manager of community and social services told city council members in an email Wednesday evening that Garry J. Armstrong on Island Lodge Road was no longer experiencing an outbreak.

She added that there will be a phased transition as they move out of the outbreak.

Vanier’s Centre d’accueil Champlain, however, remains on outbreak.

The latest outbreak, which was facility-wide,  status was placed on Garry J. Armstrong on December 31.

The home had experienced four outbreak over the past year: April, June, August and then again in September.
