Asbestos removal operation closes Aylmer police station

By Dani-Elle Dubé

Due to the presence of asbestos on site, the Aylmer police station is closed as crews work to remove the volatile material.

The City of Gatineau made the decision to close the station Thursday evening — stressing there will be no impact on service delivery for area residents.

The city says its teams are working hard to resolve the situation.

Until the end of the work, however, for any situation that doesn’t require police travel, Aylmer citizens will have to go to the Hull area police station at 777 Blvd. de la Carrière.
