Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is reporting 25 new cases of COVID-19 in the city with no new deaths, but it is tracking a few new outbreaks on its dashboard.

The health unit says three clients and one staff member have tested positive for the novel coronavirus at a local shelter, two children and one staff member have been infected at Centrepointe Home Daycare, and an outbreak has been declared at a community organization.

As of Tuesday, February 23, there are 22 Ottawa healthcare institutions dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks, as well as two schools, five childcare centres, six workplaces and one community organization.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the city is down to 451, according to OPH. There are 21 people in hospital with the virus — seven of whom are now in intensive care.

Residents being tested for the novel coronavirus, locally, are seeing positive results 2.3 per cent of the time.

No new deaths reported Tuesday leaves Ottawa's pandemic death toll at 437.

There have been 14,429 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa since March of 2020, with 13,541 of those cases resolved.

The city has seen 46,559 of its 48,460 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered, to date.

Ontario is reporting 975 new cases of COVID-19, Tuesday, including two in the area served by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, two in Renfrew County and none in the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark district.
