Second COVID-19 case confirmed at Carleton Place High School
A second student at Carleton Place High School has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The Upper Canada District School Board confirmed the new case in a press release sent out Friday evening, adding that the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is closely monitoring the situation.
The unit is also making contact with anyone who has had high-risk contact with the student and asking them to isolate.

“This is not an outbreak,” the UCDSB wrote. “An outbreak is declared when two or more individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, at least one of which is linked to possible transmission at the school.”
Both the school and health unit are taking all necessary steps to prevent further spread of the virus in the school and community.
The school remains open and operating on the regularly daily schedule.
