Camping still a go at Gatineau Park campgrounds, but with restrictions: NCC

Get the camping gear ready because Gatineau Park will be opening its campgrounds and sites for the upcoming season — but with some restrictions.

According to an announcement from the National Capital Commission Thursday, the NCC will allow people to camp on their properties but campers must all be from the same home address.

“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCC has established additional measures to protect the health and safety of campers and staff,” the NCC wrote on its website. “These measures comply with Government of Quebec recommendations with respect to frequent cleaning of public places and signage.”

The maximum number of people allowed in Philippe Cabin is limited to 10 and group campsites are closed until further notice, however.

The NCC will open registration for its campsites on the March 15 at 9 a.m. This includes registration for its ready-to-camp units.

The 2021 season starts on May 14 and lasts until October 11.
