Hochelaga Street reopens in east Ottawa following large police operation

There was a heavy police presence in an east Ottawa neighbourhood over the weekend.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) responded to a scene on Hochelaga Street, off Montreal Road, in the Quarries neighbourhood, around 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 16.

Residents were asked to avoid the area while the police operation was underway, and the road remained closed, between Gulf Place and Bermuda Avenue, until around 12 a.m. Monday.

Police have not released many details regarding the operation. More details will be added to this story once they become available.
