Ontario border rules limiting travel from Quebec, Manitoba expire
Ontario's borders with Quebec and Manitoba are now fully reopened.
A provincial order restricting inter-provincial travel between those provinces expired at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday.
I am happy to learn that travel restrictions will be lifted between Ontario and Québec this Wednesday. After months of wasted police resources to control travel around the NCR, our two highly integrated economic regions will greatly benefit from this decision.

The regulation was introduced in April as Ontario battled the third wave of COVID-19.
It applied to land and water borders.
Travel between the regions was limited to essential reasons such as health care, custody, or compassionate grounds like attending a funeral.

It also allowed law enforcement to stop and question people about their reasons for entering Ontario.
