UPDATE: Three men seriously injured following Metcalfe collision involving tractor trailer

Three men are in hospital after a crash between a car and tractor trailer in Metcalfe.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) was called to the incident at 3:57 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, near the intersection of 8th Line Road and Parkway Road.

Firefighters used specialized extrication tools to free three occupants of a car.

Ottawa paramedics say the three suffered multi-system traumatic injuries. One patient needed to be flown to hospital by Ornge air ambulance.

There's been no word on what caused the crash.
