More charges against Arnprior man in OPP sexual offence investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says a pair of teen victims have come forward in an investigation into sexual offences against minors.

Alex Finan, 30, was arrested and charged after a four month investigation on August 24, 2021.

Several electronic devices were seized at that time, and now police say two teens, ages 15 and 16, have been identified. As a result, the following new charges been laid: 

  • Transmit sexually explicit material to a person under 18, (CC) section 171.1(1)(a)  
  • Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, (CC) section 172.1(1)(b) – 2 counts
  • Makes, prints, publishes or possession for the purpose of publication any child pornography section 163.1(2)
  • Possession of child pornography section 163.1(4)
  • Voyeurism section 162(1)

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Renfrew at a later date.
