By CityNews Ottawa

It’s now three Ottawa schools that are closed because of COVID-19 outbreaks.

Ottawa Public Health says there are 19 cases of COVID in students at Mauril Belanger Public School in Vanier alone. That's up seven cases from Tuesday, October 5.

The French public school board says the school has been closed as a result.

Two other Ottawa schools — St. Benedict Catholic School in Barrhaven, and Marius-Barbeau Catholic Elementary School in south-end Ottawa — remain closed because of their outbreaks.

There are 15 students at St. Benedict Catholic School who have been diagnosed with COVID-19, while eight individuals at Marius-Barbeau Catholic Elementary School have the virus.
