UPDATE: Sexual assault charges laid after investigation at City of Ottawa long-term care home

A 65-year-old Ottawa man is facing charges, including sexual assault of a person with a disability, after an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) at the City of Ottawa's Garry J. Armstrong long-term care home.

Officers launched an investigation on October 26 after receiving a complaint from the home.

Police say the incidents happened while the suspect was working as a food services staff member at the facility.

Denis Wissell has been charged with:

  • Sexual assault (two counts)
  • Sexual assault of a person with a disability (two counts)

He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, November 5.
