A 28-year-old man is facing child pornography-related charges after an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service's (OPS) Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE).

The OPS says it launched its investigation after receiving information from The National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC), which indicated that an Ottawa resident was suspected of being in possession of child pornography.

The ICE Unit executed a search warrant on Baseline Road near Algonquin College on Thursday, December 16 and made an arrest.

Michael Eliuk, 28 of Ottawa, has been charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography (five counts)

He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
