Two Ottawa men, ages 23 and 24, are facing a number of weapon-related offences after a local firearms investigation.
Ottawa Police Service (OPS) officers say their investigation began in October 2021, with the assistance of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), after a man visited a gun store and started buying disassembled handguns.
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, two men who had just left the same store after making another purchase were stopped by police and arrested. Their vehicle was searched, and police seized a pair of disassembled Glock 19 handguns.
That same day, the OPS executed a search warrant on Frobisher Lane, in a neighbourhood just west of The Ottawa Hospital General Campus, and seized a 3D Printer, 3D printing components, and various firearm components.
