Embrun man killed in collision on Highway 138

Members of the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles that took place on April 27. 

Just before 3:15 p.m., OPP officers responded to a collision on Highway 138, north of Gravel Hill Road in the North Stormont Township. Police reported a northbound passenger vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with a southbound transport truck. 

The driver of the car, Armand Benoit, 88, of Embrun, was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. The passenger of the vehicle was treated for minor injuries, while the driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing.
