Fire crews douse ‘minor’ blaze on roof top of Holy Trinity Catholic High School

By Dani-Elle Dubé

Ottawa firefighters were called to a west-end high school after a report of a small fire on the roof.

Crews were called to Holy Trinity Catholic High School just before 3 p.m. on Katimavik Road, between McGibbon and Castlefrank roads.

According to Sharlene Hunter, a spokesperson for the Ottawa Catholic School Board, contractors were working on a new cooling tower installation project when the minor fire started.

Fire crews had the small roof fire under control at about 3:10 p.m.

The damage appears to be isolated to the equipment only, and no part of the school appears to be affected, Hunter explained in a statement to CityNews on Thursday, May 5.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) says there are no reported injuries.

An investigator will not be required to attend the incident.
