One person treated by paramedics after high-rise fire in Elmvale Acres

Fire crews have rescued one person from a high-rise building fire in Elmvale Acres.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) says the incident happened at a 14-storey residential high-rise on Halifax Drive on the morning of Thursday, May 26.
The building was without power, so emergency responders walked up to the 12th floor with all their equipment.
They forced entry into the unit where the fire originated, and rescued one occupant, who was brought down to the care of the Ottawa Paramedic Service.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
