Man charged in relation to auto thefts

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) charged one man in relation to several auto theft offences following the execution of two search warrants on June 8. 
 
The OPS began an investigation in March of 2022 when the service received information that a man was presumably purchasing and using fraudulent vehicle identification number (VIN) plates
 
After executing search warrants in Ottawa's west end, OPS investigators recovered six new vehicles, key fob programming equipment, several keys and fraudulent information. 
 
The vehicles had been stolen from Ottawa and area dealerships over the course of the last few months. 
 
Ahmad Mohammad Nazim, 32, of Ottawa, was charged with: 

This is an ongoing investigation and the OPS believes Nazim may have sold vehicles to unsuspecting buyers and are asking anyone who may have dealt with him to contact the police.
