OPP conducts one-day blitz on Highway 17 between Ottawa and North Bay

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers of the Upper Ottawa Valley, along with other enforcement partners, conducted a a one-day traffic blitz on Highway 17 with a focus on on aggressive drivers.

On Saturday July 16, OPP members from the east region and north east region as well as the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Deep River Police Service (DRPS) participated in an effort to address aggressive driving on Highway 17.

The blitz was conducted on the corridor of Highway 17 between North Bay and the city of Ottawa between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

As a result, many charges were laid, which include:

Two drivers were charged with impaired operation and there was one three-day automatic drivers license suspension issued.
