City hosts household hazardous waste disposal event

This Sunday is a chance for Ottawa residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste.
The August 7 event will be at the Innes Snow Dump and will accept any products that are corrosive, flammable or poisonous.

“These types of products contaminate water and landfills and should never be poured down the drain or put out with your regular garbage,” the City of Ottawa states.
In 2021, citizens helped divert more than 548 tonnes of hazardous waste from the landfill.
Residents looking to get rid of electronic waste can go to the Trail Road Landfill facility or can contact a participating Take it Back! member to arrange for proper disposal.
