Police respond to several overdoses this long weekend

Ottawa police attended three separate overdoses this long weekend.
According to an Ottawa Police Service (OPS) tweet, all three people were successfully revived after being administered Narcan — a nasal form of the drug Naloxone that helps temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
This past long weekend, officers attended 3 separate locations where they administered Narcan on unresponsive persons.
All 3 were successfully revived.

According to Ottawa Public Health, there were 75 opioid overdoses requiring hospitalization in July, and three people in Ottawa died from suspected overdoses on Aug. 19.
Police are asking residents to call 9-1-1 immediately if they witness an overdose.
