AERO Ottawa-Gatineau Air Show takes to the skies this weekend

By Alex Black

It's going to be a weekend of impressive aerobatic demonstrations, military aircraft rich in history and the presentation of new aerospace technologies.

The AREO Ottawa-Gatineau Air Show is back.

Organizers are expecting about 15,000 attendees at the Ottawa-Gatineau Executive Airport for the fifth edition of the weekend festival, which features 60 aircraft, both on the ground and in the air.

It also marks the first in-person air show in Quebec in two years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of the festival highlights include the CF-18 Demonstration Team, the Canadian Armed Forces Skyhawks CC-138 Twin Otter and the A-10C Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team.

The festival runs Friday, Sept. 16 to Sunday, Sept. 18 and you can see the full schedule here.

Tickets must be purchased online and will not be available on site.
