Killaloe OPP charge man with several criminal offences

A man has been charged with several offences after police pulled him over for a traffic stop.

A press release states that on Sept. 30, just after 10 p.m., officers from the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop for a traffic related offence on Combermere Road, in the Township of Madawaska Valley.

Police said that as part of the investigation the driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Police have charged Abdullah Imani, 42, of Madawaska Valley Township, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
  • Operating a motor vehicle while having over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 ml of blood
  • Driving a motor vehicle while prohibited

Imani was further charged with operating a motor vehicle while performing a stunt – speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and having open liquor, contrary to the Liquor Licence and Control Act (LLA).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Killaloe, on Nov. 9. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
