Educational assistant charged with assault

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Child Abuse Section laid assault charges against an education assistant on October 7, 2022.

The incident occurred on May 20, 2022 at the Crystal Bay Centre for Special Education and was reported to the OPS on June 8 of that year. The 10-year-old female victim did not require medical attention, according to police.

The accused of Ottawa was charged with one count of assault.

It was brought to CityNews’ attention on April 19, 2024 that the charge was dismissed on March 14, 2024.

CityNews removed the name of the accused upon updating this story.
