New area codes for Québec as of Oct. 22

Three new area codes are coming to Québec as of Oct. 22.

Area code 263 will be introduced in Montreal. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) says it’s the simplest solution as the region is expected to run out of 514 and 438 phone numbers in February 2024.

The area code 354 will be introduced in the region around the Montreal island which is currently served by area codes 450 and 579.

Area code 468 will be introduced in regions currently served by 819 and 873 area codes.

Existing phone numbers and their area codes will not be affected.
