Senators sign Mark Kastelic to two-year contract extension

The Ottawa Senators have agreed to a two-year contract extension with forward Mark Kastelic with a salary cap hit of $835,000, the team announced on Thursday, Oct. 27. 

Kastelic will earn $800,000 for the 2023-24 season and then see his salary increase to $870,000 for 2024-25.

The 23-year-old was selected in the fifth round of the 2019 National Hockey League (NHL) Draft by Ottawa and is in his second season in the NHL. In 22 career games, Kasteli has recorded six points while adding 38 points in 95 career games in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Belleville Senators.

“Mark has worked tirelessly to earn all that has come his way since being a late round draft pick three years ago,” said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. “He's reliable, competitive, takes exceptional pride in his conditioning and routinely showcases a willingness to take on any challenge. He's set a very good example for the young players and prospects throughout the organization.”
