Two men facing numerous charges after breaking into Parc Omega and killing multiple animals

Two men are facing a number of charges after they illegally entered Parc Omega last week and killed four animals.
The incident took place on Thursday, Nov. 10.
An employee called 9-1-1 around 9:30 p.m. after seeing a van drive onto the property and hearing gunshots.
Two men, a 21-year-old and a 42-year-old, have been arrested by the Sûreté du Québec and the bodies of three wild boars and one elk were found in the vehicle along with at least one firearm according to provincial police officers in Québec.
The suspects appeared in court on Nov. 11. They are expected to face charges of breaking and entering, using a firearm in the commission of a crime, negligent use of a firearm and killing or injuring certain animals.
A spokesperson with Parc Omega said the entire team is deeply saddened by what happened, and would like to reassure anyone who plans to visit the area that this is an isolated event.
No other information is being released at this time, and the investigation continues.
