An organizer of the Freedom Convoy that occupied downtown Ottawa for nearly one month earlier this year is planning a reunion in the capital.
James Bauder, the founder of Canada Unity, a group that called for an end to all vaccine mandates, posted on Facebook calling for a 'Freedom Convoy 2.0' from Feb. 17 to Feb. 21 in Ottawa.
In the post, Bauder said more information was coming, but urged people to bookmark the dates, and more information will follow.
He said the theme for the reunion is 'Olive Branch Edition'.
“Because the simple fact is we can't have unity without reconciliation which has to come from 'We The People' and not from our government,” the post on Facebook said. “When I see our Freedom Family turning on itself over petty indifferences, allowing the seeds of division to destroy all we did… I say please stop and reflect on unity before you attack another freedom-loving Canadian.”
Bauder was arrested on Feb. 20 in Ottawa as police cleared the occupation and is facing charges of mischief to obstruct property, disobeying a lawful court order and obstructing a peace officer.
