The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is partnering with the Petawawa Police Service Board (PPSB) and the Garrison Petawawa Military Police to host a Mega 'Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere' (RIDE) program on Dec. 2 in the town of Petawawa.

The Mega RIDE Program will target impaired drivers and motorists should expect to encounter roadside checkpoints throughout  Petawawa. Members of the PPSB and community volunteers will join police at the checkpoints and provide gifts to sober drivers.

Drivers are urged not to drink and/or consume drugs and drive. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and appoint a designated driver, take a taxi, or spend the night.
