Environment Canada issues special weather statement for Ottawa
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Ottawa stating strong winds are expected in the capital on Saturday, Dec. 3.
“Strong winds expected with the passage of a cold front on Saturday (Dec. 3),” said Environment Canada in its statement.
The weather agency said wind gusts of up to 80 kilometres per hour are expected in Ottawa.

“Utility outages may occur,” Environment Canada said. “Damage to buildings, such as roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.”
According to Environment Canada “at this time, the cold front is expected to reach the Toronto area Saturday morning and the Ottawa area near noon on Saturday.”
