Police services board to hold special meeting Friday, Dec. 9

By CityNews Ottawa

A meeting of the Ottawa Police Services Board (OPSB) will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 to consider requests from Ottawa police to appoint special constables of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and OC Transpo.

The special meeting comes after the last OPSB meeting at the end of November ended abruptly when protesters interrupted during public delegations.

Robin Browne, co-lead of the 613-819 Black Hub, took his allotted five-minute presentation long in what he called an civil act of disobedience. Browne refused to leave without having his questions answered.

The meeting will be held at Andrew S. Haydon Hall at Ottawa City Hall. Residents can watch the meeting live on Ottawa City Council’s YouTube channel.
