SD&G OPP investigating fatal collision on Highway 401

One person is dead following a two vehicle collision on Highway 401 near South Dundas.
On Dec 7, 2022, shortly after 2 p.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial police (OPP) officers responded responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle eastbound on Highway 401, east of Upper Canada Road. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation continues. Highway 401 remains closed eastbound and westbound between Ingleside and Upper Canada. There is a detour in place.
