OPP Festive RIDE program week four results

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) 2022 Festive (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) RIDE campaign started on Nov. 17, 2022 and continues until Jan. 2, 2023. 

During the fourth week of the campaign from Dec. 8 to Dec. 14, officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the OPP conducted 30 RIDE checks throughout the detachment area. 

During the RIDE checks, drivers were found to be in full compliance with the law and no impaired driving or over 80mg charges were reported as a result of the RIDE campaign.

UOV OPP officers arrested a 66-year-old Deborah Charbonneau from Head, Clara and Maria Township has been charged with the following offence:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80mg plus

The accused had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear on Jan. 3, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke.
