Warm December temperatures continue in Ottawa

Ottawa is on track to wrap up 2022 with some warmer temperatures following a major winter storm over the holiday season.

As of 11 a.m. on Dec. 30, the temperature in Canada's capital was 8 C, with a high of 9 C is expected.

The temperature hit 6.4 C around 7 a.m this morning, making it the warmest Dec. 30 in Ottawa history surpassing the previous record of 6 C in 1990.

This is the second straight day of record breaking temperatures in Ottawa. Yesterday (Thursday, Dec. 29) was the warmest Dec. 29 recorded with a temperature of 6.9 C. The previous high for a Dec. 29 was in 2018 when temperatures hit 6.6 C.

For New Year's Eve, temperatures are expected to be a high of 8 C with periods of rain.
