Firefighters respond to blaze at commercial establishment on Ridgewood Ave. near Riverside Dr.

No injuries have been reported after Ottawa firefighters responded to a fire at a strip mall in Ottawa's south end late on New year's Day. ]

Just after 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received a call from someone reporting smoke from a commercial establishment on Ridgewood Avenue near Riverside Drive. 

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters noted smoke coming from one side of a strip mall. 

There was no one inside the structure, and the fire was declared under control shortly after 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 2. 

The fire is under investigation.
