Air purifier causes Gloucester-Southgate house fire

Firefighters responded to a house fire Friday night, Jan. 13, determining the cause to be an air purifier.
Ottawa Fire Services arrived at the Victoria Heights Crescent home within four minutes of receiving the homeowner's 9-1-1 call around 8 p.m.
Despite the heavy black smoke filling the home, firefighters found the source of the fire, an air purifier located in the home's basement.
No injuries were reported, and the fire was contained to the basement.
