Firefighter treated for overexertion after car fire in Barrhaven garage

Firefighters saved a Barrhaven families home from going up in flames after their car caught fire in the garage.

Around 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) were called to a single family home on Larkin Drive. The family reported their vehicle was on fire inside the home's attached garage.

When firefighters arrived the entire vehicle was engulfed in flames and the fire had spread to the garage walls. A dry chemical agent was used on leaking gasoline from the vehicle while fighting the fire.
