Atlético Ottawa signs Gianni dos Santos to two-year deal

Atlético Ottawa signed Gianni dos Santos to a two-year deal running until the end of the 2024 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season.

“Gianni is a dynamic and talented player who will bring something new and different to our forward line,” said Carlos Gonzalez, head coach, Atlético Ottawa. “His pace, technical ability, and eye for goal will be a valuable addition for us, and I am confident he will make a big impact over the next two years.”

He joined Pacific FC in the CPL in 2021 and over the course of two seasons, he played 48 times, winning the league with Pacific FC in 2021. 

Dos Santos began his professional career with FC Dordrecht in 2017 and joined Sparta Rotterdam as a youth prospect the following season before returning to FC Dordrecht, where he scored four goals in 17 appearances. Deployed mostly on the left flank, he earned an international call-up by Cape Verde in June 2022, playing in a 1-0 defeat in a friendly match against Ecuador.
