Car drives off 417 overpass, lands on Carling Avenue
A person had to be extricated after a car drove of a Highway 417 overpass and landed on Carling Avenue.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to an auto-generated call from Ottawa Police Services around 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25. Landing on its side and resting against a fence beside the road, firefighters cut off the car's roof and removed the trapped driver just before 7:30 p.m. who was then taken to hospital.
At 19:00 last night, we responded for someone who drove their vehicle off highway 417 & landed on Carling Ave. Firefighters arrived in 2 min & quickly stabilized the vehicle. The OFS's Fire Station 23, located at 1445 Carling Avenue, is less than 200 metres from the crash site.
