Easter long weekend open and closed

It’s the first long weekend of spring!

If you have any shopping or planning left to do for your Easter long weekend, there are some closures and schedule changes to be aware of.

All LCBO and The Beer Store locations are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, while The Beer Store locations will operate regular hours on Easter Monday. Select LCBO locations are open on Easter Monday so check ahead.

Most grocery stores and retail outlets are closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but most are open Easter Monday.

Banks will reopen Easter Monday.

Canada Post locations are closed on Monday and there will be no mail delivery.

Client Service Centres:

Ottawa City Hall and all seven Client Service Centres will be closed on Easter Monday. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday.
The city’s Provincial Offences Court will also be closed on Monday. Business will resume as usual on Tuesday.

The city’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters requiring the city’s immediate attention.

Green bin, recycling and garbage collection:

There will be no curbside green bin, recycling or garbage collection on Easter Monday. The collection of green bin, garbage and recycling materials will be delayed by one day for the week.
There will be no multi-residential recycling container collection.

Recycling container collection will also be delayed by one day for the week. However, multi-residential garbage container collection is not delayed and will take place on its regular scheduled day.

The Trail Waste Facility is closed on Easter Monday.

Transit:

OC Transpo:

OC Transpo bus service will operate on a reduced weekday schedule on Monday.

O-Train Line 1 will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Monday.

OC Transpo Customer Service (613-560-5000) will be open on Monday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
OC Transpo’s Rideau Centre Customer Service Centre will be open on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
All other OC Transpo Customer Service Centres are currently closed.
Heartwood House (OC Transpo Lost and Found) will be closed on Monday.

Para Transpo:

Para Transpo will operate on a holiday service on Sunday, and Monday.

Regular bookings on Monday are automatically cancelled.
Regular bookings on Sunday are not automatically cancelled, and customers are reminded to suspend regular bookings if they do not need their trip.

Recreation and cultural services:

Many pools, fitness centres and some arenas will be open Easter Monday for public swimming, skating and fitness classes with modified schedules.
Many registered programs at swimming pools, community centres and arenas are cancelled on Easter Monday, however, clients should check with their facility to confirm, as some exceptions will apply.
Shenkman Arts Centre is closed on Friday and Monday, with reduced hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Meridian Theatres at Centrepointe is closed on Monday.
The City of Ottawa Archives and Gallery 112 will be closed until Monday.

Municipal child care services:

City-operated Child Care Centres are closed on Easter Monday.

Library:

All branches, departments and services of the Ottawa Public Library will be closed Sunday and Monday.
